HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division announced the appointment of Onel Rodriguez as division chief financial officer (CFO), effective May 1, 2026, marking the latest example of Riverside Community Hospital’s strong track record of developing executive leadership for the organization.
Rodriguez most recently served as CFO at Riverside Community Hospital, where he led the organization to exceed key strategic goals while positioning it for sustained growth. His leadership focused on strengthening financial performance alongside operational improvements, including enhancing patient throughput, expanding capacity and building sustainable financial frameworks.
Riverside Community Hospital has become a recognized leadership pipeline within HCA Healthcare, consistently developing high-performing executives who advance into key roles across the enterprise. In addition to Rodriguez’s appointment, several other leaders have advanced from Riverside Community Hospital to the Far West Division, including Jackie Van Blaricum, division president; Annette Greenwood, division chief nurse executive; and Ibsen Leynes, regional vice president of human resources.
“Much of that leadership development is driven by the breadth and complexity of care we provide,” said Peter Hemstead, chief executive officer of Riverside Community Hospital. “As a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI receiving center and Level III NICU, our teams are exposed to a wide range of high-acuity cases. Combined with our advanced surgical programs, leading-edge technology and the opportunity to serve one of the region’s most diverse populations, our leaders gain invaluable experience. Operating in California also adds a unique layer of regulatory and operational complexity, further strengthening the capabilities of the leaders we develop.”
“Onel is a highly accomplished leader with a strong track record of aligning financial performance with operational excellence and high-quality patient care,” said Jackie Van Blaricum, president of HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division. “His development at Riverside Community Hospital reflects the strength of that organization in cultivating exceptional talent. I am pleased to welcome him to the Las Vegas market and confident he will play an important role in our continued growth and success.”
Rodriguez brings nearly two decades of progressive financial leadership experience across large, complex acute care hospitals, ranging from 200 to more than 700 beds. Prior to Riverside, he served as CFO at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and HCA Florida Palms West Hospital, where he drove significant margin improvement, strengthened reimbursement capture and advanced major capital expansion initiatives.
He holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Kaplan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Saint Thomas University.
