Riverside Community Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital and Los Robles Health System, part of HCA Healthcare’s California hospitals, today announced the results of the organization’s annual We Show Up® for National Volunteer Month initiative. Colleagues across California donated their time and expertise to help improve the health and well-being of the communities they serve.
“Serving our communities extends far beyond the walls of our hospitals,” said Jackie Van Blaricum, president of HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division. “Every day, our colleagues demonstrate an incredible commitment to improving lives, and the We Show Up for National Volunteer Month initiative is a meaningful reflection of that dedication. We are proud of the time, compassion and expertise our teams shared with nonprofit organizations across California.”
Throughout the month of April, more than 300 colleagues from HCA Healthcare’s California hospitals volunteered nearly 750 hours with local nonprofit organizations throughout their communities. Volunteer efforts supported organizations focused on community wellness, education, food access and neighborhood support initiatives.
Local volunteer impact included:
- 748.5 volunteer hours logged
- 313 colleagues volunteered
- 67 non-profit organizations supported

American Red Cross
Volunteers partnered with the Inland Empire American Red Cross to support community preparedness and relief efforts that help individuals and families during times of crisis and emergency response.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley
Colleagues volunteered with Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley to support programs that provide safe spaces, mentorship and educational opportunities for local youth and families.
Conejo Valley Senior Concerns
Colleagues supported Conejo Valley Senior Concerns through volunteer efforts focused on enhancing the well-being and quality of life for older adults in the community.
Across the nation, HCA Healthcare’s We Show Up for National Volunteer Month initiative resulted in:
- 1,866 nonprofits supported across the nation
- 9,790 colleagues who volunteered to meet local needs
- More than 41,800 hours dedicated to volunteering in the communities HCA Healthcare serves
In total for 2025, HCA Healthcare colleagues volunteered over 350,000 hours and more than 10,000 charitable organizations were supported through donations and volunteering across the country. Additionally, more than 1,300 colleagues served on a nonprofit board.
