Riverside Community Hospital proudly announces that its G1 Advanced Surgical Telemetry Unit has been named a 2025 Unit of Distinction Top Ranking Unit for Medical-Surgical Care, the organization’s highest honor recognizing exemplary nursing units across its national network.
Launched in 2015, HCA Healthcare’s Unit of Distinction Awards are a cornerstone of its strategic nursing plan, celebrating and rewarding nursing units that achieve measurable excellence in patient care, workforce engagement and professional development. Across approximately 2,400 sites of care and more than 99,000 nurses, the recognition highlights top-performing teams that set the standard for clinical excellence.
To achieve this recognition, the unit met rigorous standards across multiple areas, including preventing hospital-acquired infections and conditions, reducing falls and promoting patient mobility and respiratory health; maintaining strong staff engagement and low turnover; advancing clinical expertise through certifications and education; and consistently delivering a patient experience grounded in respect and compassionate care.
This achievement builds on a historic milestone in 2024, when G1 became Riverside Community Hospital’s first-ever Unit of Distinction. In the 2025 awards cycle, presented in 2026, the hospital expanded its recognition, with G5 Ortho Trauma and G6 Telemetry Neuro receiving honorable mentions in the same category.
“This recognition reflects the extraordinary dedication of our entire care team,” said Jesse Roque, chief nursing officer at Riverside Community Hospital. “Exceptional care does not happen by accident. It happens through the commitment of every team member, including physicians, nurses, technicians, food service, physical therapy, respiratory therapy and more, working together to provide safe, high-quality and compassionate care. It’s also about fostering an environment where staff feel connected to each other, our mission and our patients. Through low turnover and advanced certifications, the units celebrated this year are elevating the standard of care across our facility for the betterment of patient care in the Inland Empire”
HCA Healthcare continues to invest in its nursing workforce through leading-edge technologies, expanded clinical education and professional development opportunities, reinforcing its position as a premier destination for nursing careers.
